moving sub-categories under non-sub'd?

I just started using sub-categories to move older events off the "main" page for a group - see http://miltonsports.smugmug.com/MarchingBand for example. I want people to be able to reach the new, current, galleries without having to go through an extra click, so I'm leaving them un-sub-categoried (is there a better word?).

Is there a way that I've not yet found to move these current galleries to show before the sub-categories?

Am I even making sense here? :dunno

I'm interested in this as well... I want to move the Sub-category section BELOW the galleries in the parent category
