Challenge 26 - In Your House

I'm not sure about the concept for CH26 yet but shot this set last night. Do you guys have any preference? Any comments on how to make it better? More punch?
I would probably title 'the chosen one'

A beautiful set there.
However I think the black setting has taken this "out of it's element" and in doing this it loses something.
It looks more like a... Ebay Ad.(Sorry) Items like this need to be showcased more as a still life or in conjuntion with a lifestyle or real setting.IMO
The pieces have great visual appeal and I can see that you took the time to take quality photos of them, yet I feel they could be better portrayed in their element and this would in turn enhance themselves giving a more ...human social feel.

Just one hacks opinion :D

Thanks! I think in my subconcious I knew this ("I'm not sure about the concept for CH26 yet ") but needed someone to point it out literally :rofl

I also tried somethong else last night - my favorite corner in the house;

I like your favorite corner alot.. A couple ideas to maybe improve it because I think you have alot of possibilities here. Do you have a wider angle lens? I was thinking maybe a portrait shot with the same composition. Just make sure you use a tripod and get something more level in the image than you have here and the composition is exactly what you want prior to shooting it since there is no photoshopping. I have had this problem as well with wid angle lenses where the lens distorts the image in a confined space. I just kinda feel like everything is just a tiny bit out of whack in this image, even though I can see you lined up the left sie of the frame with those two picture frames. Just some suggestions. Cant wait to see some more.:D

I am deeply in love with the first picture of the silver ware...
I like the dark background a lot, it gives it more class.
For me it is almost the perfect photograph... if you have that in your house, wow...
The candles have a very nice glow, I just love, love, love this shot.

I, also, think this is a very lovely image - whether it is the best picture for the challenge "In This House" I don't know as there is nothing about this image that places it in a particular house - still, it is a very lovely image. Once again, the distinction between a lovely image and the best image for a particular thematic challenge.

I would try to not let the top of the top vessel touch the edge of the frame if it were me - I would want to include just a litte bit of the background between the vessel's top and the edge of the frame. Just my opinion, tho....

I agree I can see how the picture corner could have some potential. I noticed that space to the left can you get under that.

I find simply by shooting from down low it can make a shot so much more interesting (and the photo of a photo idea I love!!!)

Here, well the girls look nice, the color is great

Just another way to think about going about the shot. I find with myself its not finding the shot that is the hard part, its manpulating the camera to meet up with what I have in my mind.

( I do like the composition with the silver and lights. My roomate has an old polariod camera I was thinking of doing something with, again the photo of a photo taking thing :D)
