I love the pelican on the surf!

Maybe for sentimental reasons though... While driving on the Beach in the OBX (outer banks, nc) I happened to look out my drivers window and see three pelicans flying in formation, going my way, at 28mph, which is what I was driving at. I was able to watch them just skim and float over the water and waves for quite a few miles. It was one of those moments I'll remember for a very long time.

I was quite amazing to see such an ungainly bird floating over the wave with such little effort. I've never given much thought to the 'beauty' of avian flight, not that I don't admire or appreciate it. But I was mesmerized by the display.

Thanks, and I’m glad it brought back a good memory. I have spent long periods of time watching these guys skim and dive the waves they are very relaxing.
