Mac uploader failing

I am trying to upload 25 pictures from an iPhoto album using the version 2.0 uploader on an iMac running 10.4.6. Everytime I try, it completes uploading 6-10 pictures and then fails with the following error: "Error contacting smugmug! Invalid user". Is there a problem with the uploader or am I doing something wrong?

1) use Univ Drag and Drop

or

2) revert to v1 of the Mac Uploader - here's the info:
