Neither of these really grab me.. Good start, but I think you can do better. The lava lamp one seems a little bit out of focus on the lamp itself. I assume that that was the focus point. The spice rack has some reflection of the light source directly back at the camera so to me it looks like you were using a flash. Maybe aiming the flash so it is not directly on the rack could get rid of the harsh reflections. I know nothing about using flashes though so my advice on that might not be the best. Keep shooting though. Looking forward to some more.

Ahh I see, I would never have thought of that. Great idea.
Here is my version, zoomed in a little to avoid seeing so much of the wall, what do you think?

Great!!!! You see, you did it... It looks even better a bit zoomed in...
You can print it out on 8 by 12, go for a nice frame and hang it in the kitchen...

I like the cropped/ angled spices. The colors are what make it IMHO. I would consider a reshoot. Not sure if the "no PS rules" allow cropping & rotating. Should be an easy reshoot tho.

The last version I did, was a reshoot, no cropping and no rotating with PS. In fact, the picture is straight from the camera, I didn't do anything to it at all. I must admit that it was really hard to get and hold the right position :D. This challenge gave me a new appreciation for photoshop.

Here is the last one with a frame...do you think it adds anything?
I am assuming that frames are ok...

This final version is great. I like the adjustments you made. Very nice to see how you took peoples comments in stride and made some changes according to the, but really kept what I think was your initial vision for this shot. I like it.:thumb
