Kevin and me were discussing (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?p=336970#post336970) TC pin taping. I got home early today, and I decided to give it a try.
Guess what - it works! :clap
And it it only takes a piece of scotch tape, scissors to cut out a tiny rectangle, a pair of tweezers (or something similar) to place it on the left 3 pins, and probably a whooping two minutes of your time.
Once the tape was cut and placed over the pins, I put the lens on, went outside, switched to AF and half-pressed the shutter... It took much longer than usual to bring my subject to focus (few seconds instead of a fraction), but it did finally focused:-). :deal
There was nothing to shoot around at 560mm, so, sorry, no pics yet, but I will give it another shot with the moon tonight :-)
I would compare the whole pin taping thing with the sensor cleaning. First time it's a scare, but once you get the idea it's just a simple trick...:wink
