This is a dragonfly that originated in South Africa and it is migrating north and east into Europe and Asia. We have a permanent group here in Naples, Italy at a lake in the middle of a dormant volcano called Lago d'Averno.

I've been shooting them in a mix of aperture priority and shutter priority (the later when the wind is moving them too much and I want to keep the shutter speed at 1/250). -1 exposure bias with an MT-24 flash set to -1 1/3 to -1 2/3 under for fill. Minimal post processing and no cropping (I don't allow myself to crop images because it can turn into a habit that makes me too lazy to work on framing).
