Not too bad!:D But it looks to me like you weren't using partial metering. The bright sun in the background is winning! If I remember right you have a 20D right? Partial metering uses 9% of the viewfinder area at center...to help defeat that sun!:clap

No apology needed....we learn from doing, watching, reading, sharing.....:thumb
PS...if the subject is wearing white, you still may have to open up a bit.

Yesterday it was, here, 2 in the morning because my son has been insttalling for me a new a G5 and there was - still is - some problems about the configuration of the internet in both computers. My wife's and mine.
Now I am on her's.
As a matter of fact I've been reading about the metering but I've never put it in practice.
I mean: I have changed to another mode, I saw the difference but I have never used it in real practice.
You are for sure right about the metering system I should use under these circunstances.
Today, at about the same time I hope to be able to try in the same location at time with the same subject...:):
Thank you. I'll show you the results. :thumb

I'm right with you Antonio! I never adjust the metering mode. I usually just adjust the EC. It seems that every time I try the different modes, I always give up and switch back to Evaluative Metering.
I hope you get to play with your G5 soon!
