I stopped by the lake on the way home. No fancy post processing -I like to let the aperture and the light paint the background. No cropping -it's for people who can't frame...

All taken with a Canon 20D + 100mm macro lens. All in aperture priority F8 -2/3 exposure bias. Some with an undiffused 430EX flash set to -2/3.

#1 has a bit too busy background for my taste, the rest are great, however I disagree with your statement "cropping is for people who can't frame"...
As i see it cropping or any pp is just another tool to make your photos better. If you think your shots are fine without it -good. If you can improve them in pp (and i belive almost all photos can be improved) go ahead.

First let me say that I agree with you -to a point. If you are in the habit of cropping your images then you might cop the attitude that you don't need to worry about composition since you'll just fix it later. Post processing should always be a tool -and not a crutch...

Yup gotta love them Dragonflies :D but the closer you can get in their face the better I like them :rofl the heads of those things are just amazing, I am just stunned at how they are created....nice series on your part Dalantech....... Skippy (Australia)
