Sequoia National Park

Went on a great backpacking trip in the Sequoia National Park last weekend.


I love the contrasts in water there:

So when are you coming up? We need to get a whole bunch of people together for a huge Northern California gathering.

Cool stuff! Reminds me of one thing though... Poison oak! (Shudders) There is so much of that blasted plant up there, I dont know how to avoid it effectively. Well, that and the ticks!

Judging by your shots, it looks like the big meltdown in the Sierras is nearing its peak by now. After all that moisture they had up there this year, I'm sure the waterfalls must be incredible all over.

I really like the look of the water in the second one. It conveys a lot of power and volume.
FYI there is a place called the Sierra Cat Haven on highway 180 on the way to Sequoia where they have leopards, panthers, and even Tigers. Might be a good spot for photos.

Yeah, the run-off is just amazing right now. It's hard to believe how much water is coming down the hill at that speed. And that's one of hundreds of major rivers in the Sierras.

As far as Ticks go, yeah, nasty little buggers. I got one on my leg on that trip. :huh
