I went into central London the other night to take some pics of Tower Bridge at night as I'd discovered a fantastic vantage point.

I just missed them opening the drawbridge but got these....just.

I set up up the tripod set up, attached the camera, started to line up the pics & get the right exposure etc. I'd taken 3 shots when I heard a voice in my ear say "You can't take photos here!" Sorry? "This is private property! And you're right in front of the Security camera!!!" :rofl

Opps!! After an apology & brief chat with him he said they didn't like people using tripods as it was usually "professional" photographers that used tripods (I kept quiet) but he said i could take photos elsewhere in the area, just so long as I wasn't in front of the camera!!

I beat a hasty retreat :D

Great shots! I got the same line about tripods in Notre Dame on Monday. I guess that's what a monopod is great for. Easily disguised as a walking stick- plan your photo, whip it on the monopod, and you can likely get a few off before security has a chat with you.
