They are truly majestic animals as they soar.

Nice birds aren't they.

This pic (http://nickphoto123.smugmug.com/photos/popup.mg?ImageID=10905909&Size=Original) has quite a lot of purple fringing - something that the f828 is known for (I know as I had one!). You can remove some by shooting Raw and using the raw editor. Alternatively, you can highlight the edges and selectively desaturate the colour. In PS: Image > Adjustments > Hugh/Saturation > Edit Magentas (drop-down) > and drop the saturation bar down to as low as needed.

Cheers,
Danny

DannyHello Danny,

The PF on the F-828 is a minor consideration for me. It does not show on prints as much as it is visible on my monitor. This is also a non-issue when shooting at 5.6.

I was shooting at 1/1000 wide open to freeze action. Also the pic you selected is an extreme crop. You can also notice some 'blooming' on the birds belly, which isn't purple but the brown of its belly.

The last image of the old man with the birds overhead gives a good measure of the conditions I was working with. And to obtain some of the images I did I am willing to encounter a little PF to capture the moment.

Regards, Nicholas
