Looking for site entry help...

I'd like to rearrange a bit. I've set up my homepage slideshow to link to a gallery page of my choice.
And I'd like to redesign my homepage to eliminate the nav bar and use a simpler header (maybe just the Bi logo) and enter the sight by clicking on the slide show...
But I'm not sure from a design stand point what type of page to link to....
I have the gallery page (using the hover hack...) But w/ the drop down menu I really do not need that page as a entry page....
Any ideas would be great....

Hi just had a look at your site and hope your ok to get some feedback,

My initial opinion is that your photos look a little dull...
Then I went and had a look in the gallery and WOW you have some beautiful photos...

Why the difference in opinion, I think your sites colours/theme are killing the photos, your theme is almost exactly the same colutrs as your images and for me they get lost in that.

Id go for something simple and bold to frame them, design the site around the images.

So ditch the modified earth theme.... On the entire site, or just the home page? I'm not sure I like the idea for the entire site, but I am considering it.
I like the redesign on the home page. Any thoughts on the type of page to link to? Click the slide show now and it goes to my gallery (hover) page.... I'm not sure if that's the right place or not...
I also want to make the SS bigger (and w/ a more variety of images) on the homepage, but that can be done easy enough.

To be honest im not a big fan of the slideshow, I think say 6 images on the front page would look nice and showcase your work well.

Id lose the earth theme altogether I think its almost more of a focus than your images.

Its my only prob with some themes... I mean you would never frame a photo in a busy frame so why do it on-libne.
