Found this in my garage tonight...I guess it's rare in California...so I quicky snapped a couple pics....carefully broomed it into a dust pan and released it in the open space by my house. It was a little over 2 ft long. Kills...rattlers I read...

Awesome. I like snakes (the good kind) I shot a king snake on the trail yesterday, but I couldn't get his head or tail... he was not cooperating :D Mine is a bit different in marking than yours. I guess that's the difference in East Coast vs West Coast King Snakes. I understand these snakes make excellent pets as well. Good of you to let this fella out in the yard.

That's pretty sweet. Thanks for sharing. It seemed real docile...so I don't doubt it makes a good pet...haha..but maybe endangered?

The Eastern King snake is pretty common around my area. I don't believe it's endangered.
