While our dgrinners were frolicking in Bryce and Zion, some of us had to work for a living.
Me? I was enjoying the fine living of Santa Monica, California. And a very nice community it is, if you can afford to live there. We never got the sunshine, tho, May Grey took care of that.
Still, road trip = camera. Fool that I am, I decided to leave the tripod at home. Who knew the pier has a ferris wheel, my first opportunity at the nighttime "disc of light" shot? :bluduh
So I had to go back in the morning to see what I could scavenge.

The beach doesn't do a lot of business early in the morning, just a few joggers.
And the occasional gazer. Baseball cap on backwards, wondering about the enormity of nature. Or how his Clippers lost to the Suns. One or the other.

Hey, it's not all fun and games, y'know. Someone's paying for that airfare.
So here's a shot of the shooters.

This is one I like, because it tells a story. I do need to apologize to Randy about his face, tho. :lol3

Nice photos. I haven't been able to make it up to Santa Monica pier yet. I would like to though. I can make sure to get the night shot you missed.:wink

Thanks, John.
I thought this one was kinda fun, despite the reflector blocking part of the shot. :lol3

Wow that's a nice shot. Looks almost 3-D.
Sid, Sid, Sid...... you ventured all the way to Santa Monica and didn't allow time for the Shutter Thugs?!?!?!?!?!? tsk, tsk, tsk.
Oh well, let's see, that saved me a dollar or three or more on the beers I didn't buy you :huh

Thanks Phil. :thumb
Sorry Angelo, our time was spoken for. :cry
I think she looks 3-D simply because of the reflector. There was no light on here. But the reflector alone was enough to really make her jump out against the background.

I also really like the "3D" shot - great depth of field and stuff on each level. :nod
Very original and pleasing.
