I think I have found the reason there aren't many birds at the basin recently. :scratch :scratch :scratch

What a beautiful series, William! He looks like a young one...nice n' lean! Rather "frisky" too! What lens were you using? He looks so darn.........close. Love all the shots, especially #3. (Is this the LA zoo??):thumb

They are not house cats? No wonder they ate so much pizza. I'll just leave them at the zoo then.

Thanks Saurora, you're right, they do live at the LA Zoo, and No. 1 is Mom, and No's 2 and 3 are year old cubs, who have lots of enegry. They leave Dad in during the day so he doesn't eat the babe's, and he is only allowed out at night. I used a Nikon 300 mm, and 80-200, so the viewing is quite nice, however the light is difficult because there's too much contrast, and of course too many other little animals with two feet.

Ahawww....I knew someone would notice that. I need some training in PS to fix tiger eyes. Thanks Nick

What time of day were you shooting these? It's unusual to see the big cats so active. So often during the day they are sleeping in their caves or behind rocks. The big cats are my favorite and they are so difficult to view.

Thanks Jeff and Ric....The pond seems to have gone out of business, or I've gone blind. At the zoo, the tiger area is dark in the back, bright in the front, with high contrast in between on a bright day. A lighting disaster, so the flash is necessary to get good results, and I don't handle that too well yet, so I'm happy to have gotten these few decent shots. Sorry to say our LA Zoo is still under construction.......will they ever get their act together?
