Then he heard the 20D.

Oh man, is that ever cool... The setting, the fog, the gorgeous animal, with a moment of human contact.

Super job. :thumb

Thanks, Joel. :D

This is as close as I've ever been to a coyote. It made me feel smart for getting up at 4:45AM. :snore :eek1

We all love that second shot. I think that conversion to B&W or sepia might enhance the mood a bit. Good job.

Thanks, Harry.

Every dog has his day! This was mine.

In a two hour period I saw and photographed:

Wood Duck pair

Coyote

Cardinal

Red Wing Blackbird

Beaver

Muskrat

Geese

Rabbit

Turtles ( two kinds )

Squirrels (two kinds )

Yellow Finch

350 frames and 47 keepers! :D

Nice set there Ric. :thumb I only see birds anymore.....and mainly osprey. The 4 legged animals must have gone North on vacation. :rofl

I was somewhat surpised at how healthy looking this guy was. Probably fattening up on bird eggs. Red Winged Blackbirds build there nests in these meadows. Makes you wonder how they survive....pure numbers methinks.

I'll look into a conversion and see if it does anything for me.:nod

Ric,

I love them both, for different reasons.

The first makes the viewer wonder what the animal is interested in. The soft, subtle tones add to the mystery.

The second brings us, the viewer, to attention too. The coyote is so intent and its senses are obviously peaked.

Fantastic, both.

Thanks,

Ric-- great shots! Youre proof that getting up and going shooting at bad times of the day pays off :-) I'm not a morning person. :wxwax

I tried it....too flat looking for my taste.

I did do a softer version and worked on the eyes a little.

I'm not a morning person either! After the experience I had on this day, I will be making more attempts at the early hours.

Thanks, Ryan. :D (oops, David, I guess)
