faking a fog?

Hey there,

I've read a few tutorials on how to put in a faux fog but I was unimpressed. So I've been trying my hand at trying to put in a digital (but yet realistic) fog into one of my pictures.

Do any of you have a special technique or site with a great tutorial on it?

I think XERO has a free download and one of them is Mist, it goes to various thicknesses.
