It has been raining here in Kansas City so I decided to take some indoor pictures without flash using my 50mm f/1.8. I took some at 1600 ISO, not expecting much, and was very surprised! Here's a shot that is handheld at 1/50, f/2.0 (sorry Harry, no birds inside my apartment so I had to resort to a cat.. he'd eat the birds anyway)

Yes, the image has very visible noise (expected at this ISO) but it has had no PP, noise reduction, or sharpening - it was simply converted using DPP without sharpening applied. It would look great after a light noiseware application and some smart sharpening!
I know this is not news to any of you, I just found it quite fun and thought I'd share. My old G6 wouldn't look this good at ISO 400.
