Hi all

This is Chaitanya, from India. I joined almost a month ago but havent done much as I dont have any photos to show right away, so figured I can get my home at Smugmug up and ready by the time I start snapping away after summer. Trying out some things but need Help :bow

I am at
thegoodmelon.smugmug.com

Have these problems for now -

1) I copied all the stuff left right and center from you guys :D and right now I have my slide show in my bio and the bio is the only thing that shows up on my home page, I will add the navigation later ( read I will be troubling you guys for that later :D ), but right now I have all my galleries as private so there is this ugly

No galleries found

thing that comes up - I have this

#galleriesBox {display:none}

but have seen that the No galleries found goes away when I keep atleast one of my galleries public, but any way I can have all my galleries not public and yet get rid of this No galleries found ?

2) I am working on one of my galleries

http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/1342851 (http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/1342851)

and have managed to hide the Smugmug header but have had no luck with the big Smugmug footer, I know I cant hide it altogether but I am not able to make it a mini one as all others have and yes I have selected Smugmug footer as No in customization and I do have something in the customer footer text box - I have the gallery's css in my Gallery theme and I will apply this theme to all other galleries once I get it right - need help with the footer please :bow

So need help with

a) Getting my header thats visible on my homepage to come up on my galleries

b) Get the Smugmug footer go mini so its just -

powered by SmugMug login shopping cart portions © 2006 SmugMug, Inc.

3) I want to turn off Lightbox from all of my galleries and I have this in the Javascript part of the customization -

useLightbox = false;

but the lightbox comes up all the same :scratch

I have the site and galleries password-protected but I figured the house pros like Andy have access to my site anyways so whoever can help me with this will be my next best fren :wave

Thanks in advance for all the help :bow

http://thegoodmelon.smugmug.com/ requires a password :dunno

1) It's difficult to help when I can't see your page.

2) Again it's difficult to help without being able to see your page. But my quick guess is that you've got the hide owner option set to yes for that gallery. Go into gallery tools and find "hide owner" and select "no".

Hi Mike

Wow that was fast response, thanks :wave

I have removed the viewing password, changed Hide owner to No and also made sure Appearance is set to Custom. Still no go :cry

The header from the home page does not show up in the gallery

http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/1342851

and the Smugmug footer is still not mini, I would love to make it micro too :D

Oh, the home page still has the ugly message saying -

No galleries found
Perhaps you'd like to try searching for one?
It's entirely possible this person has galleries, but they may be Private.

Also after changing the Hide Owner to No the gallery now has the gallery name coming up as

TheGooDMeLoN > Photography > Sony Ericsson S700i

It was just Sony Ericsson S700i before :dunno

I am doing the customization for the gallery in question thru the theme I named as Gallery

Also Mike any suggestions on disabling Lightbox throughout the galleries?
Once again thx for sure a quick response :thumb

OK first of all, the gallery with your header image had external links turned off - I fixed that and now your header will show.

OK you're set now.

You have to have at least one gallery public to lose that message. And then you hide the galleries on the homepage by not displaying them. I did that for you.

Seems like the pics in your slideshow are not yours, you might want to use photos that belong to you?

The above slideshow takes pictures from a gallery of photographs taken with Sony Ericsson S700i mobile phone. Photographs are not mine and are Copyright © 2001-2006 Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB.
