Got some new features on the site:

- backup CDs/DVDs. Order copies of your Originals. They're laid out on the CD/DVD in a similar form to the way they are on smugmug, including your categories and galleries, and include smugmug's IDs so you can easily correlate your backup to the site using scripts and/or utilities (which have yet to be written). You can order backups for your entire account, a given category, a given subcategory, or a specific gallery. Details: http://www.smugmug.com/help/backups

- 'Clean' cascading. If you set all of your galleries in a Category or SubCategory to be 'Clean', the parent container will now also look 'Clean'.

- cobranding is a little more robust now, making it harder for you to accidentally break it. In addition, smugmug customer service has some new tools to help you fix it in extreme cases.

- prosales page has been slightly updated to reflect the fact that the profit listed on that page is merely an estimate. It may be off by a few cents when we actually write your check due to the aggregate nature of combining multiple orders and then calculating 85%.

- two rare and obscure bugs in the shopping cart related to shipping to foreign countries have been fixed.

And lots of other small things.

Enjoy!

Are the captions included?Hi Georges,

Here's a FAQ on what's included: http://www.smugmug.com/prints/backup.mg

If the captions are part of the IPTC data in the file, they're included. Also, if the caption is the file name, it's included. But if the caption was typed in using smugmug's edit caption tool, I'm afraid it's not because it would have to be stored as a text file separate from the photo.

Thanks,
Baldy

If I put a caption in the IPTC data before uploading will smugmug pick it up and display it?

Not a big deal, just curious.

See you later ,gs

How do you access the Clean function for the galleries? I can't seem to find it. Is it pro only?

Yes, it's a very good idea.

Just to clarify, his answer was both "Yes, we do use the IPTC Caption data to fill the Caption field on smugmug" as well as "Yes, it's a good idea to put it in IPTC prior to uploading". :)
