Now this I have done even less to. I did more, but I saved it in stages, this is the first stage right after a light touch of LAB, not like the gulls, much lighter touch.

I really like it, I am afraid to do more.

comments, whatever. I may put it on the whipping post, but I don't want to know how to retake it, I would only want to know if I should do more.

Gosh, I am relieved! I felt like I was walking on eggs, myself, with that shot. I can not imagine exactly where I was at the rookery when I took. I love the nest, it is surreal, to me.

How do you bribe those birds to pose just exactly right for you, Ginger??? I love how the OOF shrubs in the foreground give the illusion that the nest is floating!!! Did you know you were getting that effect when you took the shot? Simply amazing. :lust

No, Saurora, I just kept shooting until I ran out of memory, then I culled and shot some more. Most shots I remember taking. There were birds with babies.........I was most interested in them.

But then I did take shots of birds with eggs, flying birds, etc. Some just bird/birds.

I am sure I knew which bird this one was when I took the shot, but I had no idea that the nest would float! When I saw it, I just couldn't imagine how I had done it, either, smile.

(I am an editor, not a photographer...............or are all photographers editors?)

Thanks, Saurora. I am sure I was interested in that bird because of the feather cleaning. I love a good "feather" shot. Can you see that she has her beak under one feather and is getting ready to "comb" it?

Hi Ginger, I really like the composition on this one. Nice exposure. My only nit is the brown foilage that is hanging down in front of the birds neck is a little distracting.

My problem in removing that is that it is moss, spanish moss. I love that stuff and try to include it in most photos of birds: you know so that you all can tell I am not at Harry's wetlands.:rofl .

In a thumbnail that moss looks really bad, but as the photo gets larger, I do like it, so......................... maybe it just depends on whether one is hung up on moss.

Just a note: I figured out where I was and what bird I photographed. Have one more of that bird I want to work up: the nest shows a bit more support, but the feather thing is fantastic!

Gosh, so much to do, and I would like to go back out there to just soak up the atmosphere of that place (today).

Have to do the baptism shortly.

Nice one Ginger. Good pose on the egret. I would have no centered the subject so much. You may want to try cloning out some of the moss and see how that looks.
