When I go to the smugmug home page and, for example, type Bali in the search block, how is the order of galleries pertaining to Bali that appear determined?

As it stands right now, it is organized according to how often the word is used in that gallery. That includes captions, keywords, filenames, etc. This may change in the near future though, as we are working on improving the search function.
