You've got some really nice shots there.

My friend is obssessed with pre-runners, he has one and he's a photographer as well, awkward.

they are wayyy cool. some of the spectators & marshalls seem a little close :uhoh .

some of the BG's are busy with other vehicles and I'm not convinced with your frame.
Other than that :thumb .

i think that they're very good :thumb
I especially like the "head on" shots.
You may want to try some bit longer times to show more speed and also try alternating views. I'd love to see some action in the truns when the gravel is flying off to the side.

Thanks for the compliments!

It was my first time with this camera and first time on this course, so I should only get better.

As for the border.. yea.. I was tired and didn't want to do anything else, so I just tampered with the levels and put that on them.. lol..

Whadup man! Good to see you..

For the rest of the DGrin crowd: This guy is a Ford Ranger owner, like DGrinner 'blackwaterstudio' and myself. We know him from a Ranger site. Blackwater sold him his old Rebel getting him started in photography.

You've got some real winners there. Although I like the shots from the 1/4'rs of the trucks and buggies best. IE: the shots of them aproaching or leaving rather than the head on shots or those taken directly from the sides. The airborn gray F150 for example.

Thanks for the welcome Bubba! Yup hes right, I know both he and Blackwater from a Ford Ranger site, and I am now shooting with Blackwaters former Rebel.. hopefully some of his tallent came with it :rofl

I had a little more time so I added a new border and what not to one of the photos, I think it helps quite a bit. What are your thoughts?

What kind of camera you have, prerun?

Man, what a great spot you have! Terrific opportunity, and some really cool shots.

I don't know what kind of gear you're using. But if you can, try to blur the background with a more open aperature. And try more of this -- a slightly slower shutter speed, while tracking the moving vehicle. That way the vehicle's sharp-ish, and the background a speed blur, looks very cool!

Nice stuff, man. I'd love to see more!

I picked some of the "better" ones to put up here.

What kind of camera you have, prerun?

I'v got a Canon DigiRebel (300D) with the EF-S 18-55 'Kit' lense. Nothin' special yet.

But if you can, try to blur the background with a more open aperature. And try more of this -- a slightly slower shutter speed, while tracking the moving vehicle. That way the vehicle's sharp-ish, and the background a speed blur, looks very cool!

Thanks for the tips! I was shooting in Tv mode as it was my first time shooting moving objects with the new camera so I was getting a feel for what shutter speed would do what to them, and I wasn't brave enough to go full manual.. lol..

I picked some of the "better" ones to put up here.Doh! Totally missed that one. So much traffic over there I miss posts left and right these days. I was sort of expecting to see shots in the photography forum. My bad.

You passed on posting some good ones over here. I'll comment more on RF..
