My first day shooting a race track. Shooting the ponies would be a lot of fun IF they ran 6 times per hour... but when you only get 4 seconds of
shooting action per race, 2 per hour is just painful.
I only had the patience for 4 races, which isn't nearly enough
considering you want to expirement with fast shutter vs. slow shutter vs.
panning, etc.

Very nice action shots!
I recently saw some excellent Santa Anita shots from a photo club called LAShooters. They received access to the track for the 6 am morning workouts. You might check into something like that for more constant action.

The pictures I saw were from a fellow SmugMugger, but I don't think he posts here.

Check it out.
I don't know what security is like at Santa Anita. I know at Churchill it's not hard to get access for the workouts, but you do have to get permissions.

Thanks eveyone! Very kind.
And I'm actually on the LAShooters msg board... and I've shot with Gary several times. But then he stopped talking to me. Just kidding, Gary. :D

Hehe VMac. And to think I'm way over here in Indiana. I'm on another group where Gary posts quite often. Admire his work.

They're all good, but I like the second one the most. And if it was easy everyone would do it....AND be great at it. Your pain was rewarded!:clap

Number two is a winner. :thumb

Thanks Cookie. I had the 300/4 on most of the day, but those first two are with 50/1.4. (Exif are all intact.)
