When you're in any of my galleries, the search box is "searchwordsshort", and has the background color it's supposed to.
On my home and category pages, it's not, and it's white. I can't figure out how to change it. Anyone?

Yeah, I tried that. I knew it was different. Couldn't get it to work, but I will go back and see what I can do.

Got it. Thanks. Going back and trying that one more time worked (it's all stabbing in the dark, for me).

you have this in your code right now, you can remove the red, see what happens.
#toolbar input#searchWords {background:#e3cfb5; padding:1px 5px; border:2px inset #E3CFB5}
EDIT, never mind, i see you got it....

Hey, Ivar, I'm gonna hijack my own thread with another question.
On my homepage the navbar text is kinda thin, until you hover over it, then it looks nice. You don't have to click, just hover. This happens in Safari, FF, and Camino.
Any ideas?

Any ideas?Hmmm, looking at it in FF and IE on a PC, hovering doesn't change the font-weight, just the background... so i can't really say anything about it. Looking at your css, it doesn't appear to do anything special when hovering...

Maybe I wasn't clear.
1) text is thin
2) hover
3) don't hover
4) text is thicker
