This is a picture i took in the fall near my parents house in Winnipeg. I really like this photo because it reminds me of home. I want you feedback so I know if i'm on to something, or just looking at a picture that only I can appreciate. Thanks

To be honest, it just looks like a snapshot taken with and old film p&s. I'm sure it's special to you, but photographically it's not "worth" much. Soft, slightly tilted, no point of interest, etc.
My best advice is appreciate it for the reasons you do!

BN,
I pretty much agree with HeldDown. Not much here for the viewer :dunno It might be different if we understood what story you were trying to tell.
The tree is nice, but it doesn't look like it is the main subject :scratch
So, yeah this one has me scratching my head.
Congrats on your 100th post :clap

all this is imo (gee, what else would it be)-
if, for whatever reason, you reshoot, what is your subject-the tree, the bench, the river in the distance (is that a river?)-
if you're keeping the bench there, move and show all of it-
need more dof--looks like the only thing really in focus is the tree trunk-
if you don't have color, if you don't have a riveting subject, go bw or toned bw, or try a pp ir with all that green you've got-
keep at it and thanks for sharing-
best

I agree that it is confusing, my original impression was that the tree was in the way and I wished you moved off to the left a bit. The bench overlooking the water(?) has some potential as it leads the eye into the scene and it does convey the peacefulness of the setting. Maybe a reshoot from several different angles and DOF combinations is in order?
