Don't know if anyone on this list can help or wants to, but going to ask anyway. I really need the Dec. Quarter camera bag. I have the money, burning hole in pocket actually. I just need to get the bag from 'over there' to here and UK shops aren't shipping to US, at least none I have found.
If anyone is willing to help this poor silly female I would greatly appreciate it. That 400 hanging in the case from a coat rack looks dumb

Not sure what you mean but you can get Crumpler bags here in the states.
There's a shop in NYC that ships.
Hope that helps.

They do not have( in the US that I have found) the Dec Quarter and that is the one I want, but if you will provide the name of the NY shop will sure check it out.

Gubbs to the white courtesy phone :ear
I'm pretty sure the NYC store won't be able to get it, as its a nonUS model, and seems to be hard to get even outside the US.
If you really really can't find it, I can put in a request with my cousin. She lives in Vienna, but visits our grandma in Prague often. And she owes me a favor anyway. If you've got the money, we can get it.
:thumb
Of course, if you offered me enough for mine... :deal :lol3

I got the $$$ up front. I can find the blasted thing all over the UK, big thing is it isn't listed on the Crumpler site anymore (bad drugs anyone, yeow).
Thanks much Erik!!!! You are becoming quite useful:rofl

You gotta wonder what's up with Crumpler. They are not meeting customer demand for their products. It seems like they have products that people like, but are clueless about distribution. I mean why not sell all the bags in US? Why discontinue a model that people want? A lot of the stuff on their website is "out of stock", or they only have funky colors. What's up with that?
Lights on, nobody home.

JulieJules,
I Crumplers defence, and I could be all wet too, that bag is pretty darn big for a shoulder bag. I would assume that most who want a bag that deep would opt for a backpack?? I detest backpacks and have since my days as a Girl 'Sprout'. I'm an over the shoulder type, no matter how big it goes over the shoulder (no I can not carry Don that way).:):
No smart remarks from the peanut gallery please, that means you Sid

Call the Crumpler shop in Australia. Actually I ordered mine from Oz last time. Just go to the Crumper web site for Australia. I think its www.crumpler.com.au (http://www.crumpler.com.au) select the bag and order it. Cost me like 30 bucks to have it shipped and I had it within 6 days. So cost and time wise its not much different than ordering from someplace here in the US. :thumb

Well, what do you want from a company that sizes thier bags by how much beer you can fit in them? :rofl
I really like thier stuff and it works really well. I can attest to that after I took a 4 hour hike in pouring rain while my gear was dry and safe but finding the bags can be a pain.

Hey, if you locate a source that will ship to you let me know. They will probably meet market demand for a bag like this over here with the Brazillion $ Home, but it looks like it won't be available till late summer.
Thusie ...i have a huge crumpler store maybe 15 min walk from my place. I will ring them and ask for you today (4.34am atm...curse that farm !)
From what ive noticed is they drop a bag off & replace it with another similar but with an even more weird name. You never know...it may be due in stock.

Called NY folks, very nice people and no they do not have it, BUT they said to check Bel Air Camera, CA..Guess what there it was, the NYC guy told me to call the store to make sure they actually had it. Called, they guy told me he was just a brick and morter place and the website was different..Ok The reason the NYC folks wanted me to call is they had a customer order a bag from another place ,since they didn't have it, and it wasn't till 4 days after he was notified it wasn't in stock. So 202.00 US tax title, 2nd day air and out the door I hope.
I'm excited, if I get a not in stock I'll scream:wxwax Then go to plan B
Ian, looks like you had the right idea to start.
JulieJules seems like that bag is more in demand than I though. Ignor my post.
DoctorIt (you have NO idea the visual that name brings up) Thanks
Anyone else I fogot to mention?:rofl

There are not any on the site http://www.brightshot.co.uk/ but they said there are a few of them in stock (black/gray and navy/orange). Email them if you are interested. Great price! I will let you all know how fast it arrives.

i've been looking for somewhere that holds The Whickey And Cox:dunno i really like their bags and the style and how they look nothing like a camera backpack. but i'm wondering if it justifies the price...
any input?
Thusie
I have found that the Crumplers, other than the large backpacks, won't accomodate my 20d with 300mm tele attached-its something to consider-for now i will stick with my Lowepro Micro Trekker 200 which will take my 400mm/5.6 attached to camera, along with my 300mm,200mm,60mm macro and 50/1.4 and bits and pieces like filters etc

any input? Are you serious? Did you read this thread? between us we've posted just about every source for Crumpler bags in the world.
:rolleyes
Go to www.crumplerbags.com (http://www.crumplerbags.com) and have a little patience, get to that page that I posted a screenshot of just a few posts up. ALL the US stores that carry them are listed there, including the NYC actual crumpler store/headquarters.

Greg/Thusie or whoever is interested....
last year I bought the Crumpler Next Venue
http://www.crumpler.com.au/Cart/Resources/CartResources/89_res/b89_o2.jpg
It has top loading, and a hidden compartment. By default, it won't hold big lens like 70-200 etc.
But you can mod the bag by cutting a hole from the top section into the hidden compartment, which should give you more than enough room for such a lens.

Greg, did check and the Dec. Quarter is the ONLY shoulder bag that will take the 400 with 20 d attached, and that is ANY shoulder bag. The Domke 805 satchel would have but that was discontinued quite a while ago. Both the NYC and Bel Air camera told me the DQ is discontinued that a new 'bigger' bag will be out in Aug. Not sure bigger and shoulder bag go together from the pictures I've seen of the DQ:D
Long and short of this is, Fred the BelAir net guy was to let me know if the bag was in stock at their warehouse (first thing CA time) yesterday, he was out sick but will be in today. Patience is not my strong suit, I can deal with air time but the bag best be IN the air on its way.:wxwax
Besides Don is starting to get that haunted look when he walks in the door after work, 50 year old woman=hormones=unstable:rofl

Got this from Ankit:
Hi,
I read several threads where you recommended the crumpler farmer's double highly. I recently ordered the customary barge (new name for the same bag), and had a couple of questions. You said you carried the 70-200 lens in the upper compartment in a lens sleeve of some sort. I was wondering what lens sleeve this is, is it nicely padded, and if I could get the same for my 200mm lens.
NOTE: I didnt want to start a new thread for this small question, so am sending this PM. Hope this is ok.
Thanks,
ankit
:wave Hi Ankit - I'm not singling you out - but this is a great opportunity to remind everyone to please post all questions in the open forum. Why?
The question by ONE can be answered by MANY.
The answer by ONE can benefit MANY.
:deal
I will put the 70-200L in my bag with the soft case it came with - fits wonderfully in the Farmer's Double. I will also put it in "naked" because the bag is so well padded. Depends what else I'm putting in the top compartment. Sometimes, I put the lens inside a big gym sock, too.
I hope this helps!

My feeling also. If I need to carry my entire kit, I think I would want it over both shoulders.
I do like the crumpler back packs though and was about to buy one when I got sidetracked into buying a second tripod instead. Oh well I now have two small Lowepro bags and two tripods, one of which is excellent.:):
