Metal filter stacking caps. Like these...

Thinking about them. I want to keep away from anything plastic that might outgas onto the filter surfaces.

a few years ago, before I switched to B+W brass mounts I tried stacking caps on filters with aluminum mounts and the filters would stick together after a while.

I have a tamrac 6 filter roll up but it takes a lot of room. I don't have a good solution for you but hopefully someone does. I just dont care for stack caps since then.

OK, so one vote no. Thanks. Exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for.

I can't stand those plastic boxes they package the filters in. And I haven't been too keen on the wallet type dealies either, since, almost no matter how carefully I try to remove one, my fingers slip and hit the glass. :doh

I'm not sure where I read the recommendation to use filter stacks - Luminous Landscape I'm thinking - but I never followed through. These look pretty nice.

I have never liked the plastic cases filters come in either - the B&W cases seem less likely to outgas as they are polyethylene - a little better than the hard plastic of Hoya and all the others. Plus they tke up a lot of room in your bag.

Binding of threads could be a possibility with aluminum stack caps, I suppose, if you weren't careful with them.

I'll bet dollars to velcro tripod leg straps that it was the exact same place I read about them.

I tried out a set of caps for a while but I had trouble at times trying to get the filters apart, now they just sit on the shelf.

Alright.... hmmmmmm. I'll re-think this then. So this begs the question - - what are you all using currently?
