No interest in Nikon's answer to the Digital Rebel?

I read that too.
I think it is a great answer to the 300D and even takes a real good shot at the 10D. For the money it sounds like a great deal. It would be great to see some reviews. I hope they Canon and Nikon keep it up, it should only give us better cameras with lower cost. :clap
The Nikon 8700 looks good too, 8mp, good lens. I hope Canon has an answer for it too.
So many toys so little time.

Canon certainly has a fight on their hands at the high end of the consumer market. The Sony f828 and the new Nikon CP8700 now put the G5 to shame. I wonder if one of Canon's new camera announcements this year will tackle that segment?
WRT the D70, why insist on pricing it higher than the Canon? At $300 more with lens ($100without) you'd have to think they're at a disadvantage.

So much for feeling like Nikon is getting left behind... :dunno
The D70 also appears to have quite a bit going for it which are the primary complaints for EOS 300D owners, flash exposure compensation being one of them. This also raises another note of interest, the D70 is already looking better than Canon's EOS-300D.
Is Canon likely to make changes to keep up? Can a firmware upgrade add Flash Compensation? Seems like Canon tried to create a gap between the 300D and the 10D, whereas Nikon hasn't really tried to, other than a few custom functions and the plastic case.

I would think the next 10D will put them back towards the top, perhaps this will drop the price of the 300D if the Nikon does what they said it will. This is what we need, them fighting it out and we get better cameras for less money. The area where Nikon is looking is in the pro market. They need to come out with a stunning camera that will force Canon to one up them or drop the price of their cameras.
Whats up with the Olympus E-1 blokes ? No-one seems to use it anywhere.
