Took this photo yesterday at a Grist mill down the road. Any way to improve it?

Not everyone would know that's a grist mill. I think it needs more context. In other words, more building, water, setting, etc.

Too many weeds (background) and not enough Grist Mill. The composition isn't working for me. The water wheel has some interest but I think your shot could tell a better story about the building and how the water wheel was part of the mill, etc. I like the sepia toned look conveying an "old" look to the shot. Good start to a potentially interesting shot - but more work needed.

I agree with david and john; I want to see more of the mill-
I keep wanting you to move your camera to the right and bring it down-
some might want more contrast but I think you've done a nice job on the toned bw-

Thanks guys, I'll try to get over there and reshoot maybe next week. I was just way to close for the lense I was using to get any of the mill. There's not much water running through there anymore, and the wheel sits off to the left and below the mill, which looks like a giant 3 story house. Good advice, and thank you. I'll work on it some more. :thumb

The top left area looks a bit like water but the window line across the top of the frame makes it a wall. A bit distracting.
If you cut a crop into portrait of just the wheel missing all the white bits in the background, i.e. the whole left side, and crop closer to the right side window it might be ok. Then re-name it 'The Wheel'...
+ whats been said.

Intriguing photo and scene with lots of possibilities.
Lots of folks have suggested more mill. I'm wondering if you can just take the same shot with the same lens in the vertical orientation and get more of the mill top/bottom, less of the grass in the background a little more of the mill's wall on the right with the new orientation.
There are also some neat things you do in PP to raise the shadows a bit with shadow/highlights and then add contrast to add some pop.

I like the Ideal and the contrast. I would like to see a different angle. The one here does not work for me.
