Questions, questions, I'm full of questions.

First, I'd like to have my bio information under my "Contact" navigation bar along with an email that can be clicked on and then is opened in the individuals outlook or whatever they use to email... but can't figure out how to do this.

Second, I want my "Links" navigation bar to actually have active links so that someone can put the cursor on it, click, and go to the specified link.

Sorry, I'm a little slow. Are you saying you'd like to have the contact button link to a page that has a bio and an email link? We can do that no problem, just not sure that's what you want.

Second, I want my "Links" navigation bar to actually have active links so that someone can put the cursor on it, click, and go to the specified link. You want a dropdown menu? I would call that an advanced technique. If you're ready for it, we can walk you through it, but be warned, it won't be easy to remember what you did or how to change it once it's up. If you don't think you're ready, perhaps a links page that people get directed to is the better bet?

Or is that what you're asking for?

You are correct on the first item.

I want my CONTACT NAV BAR to show my BIO info that USE to be on the home page. Basically, my BIO info under CONTACT NAV BAR along with the email thing.

The second item...a links page will work.

Thanks,
Lynda

Well you'll need to create 2 galleries. You can make them blank galleries if you want or you can upload some photos. Once you do that, post a link to each of those galleries and we'll get you up and running with links from your navbar.

Okay...I think I've done what you wanted me to do. Not sure. Now what?:dunno

Mike,

I already have the nav bars linked to the galleries. I suppose I am wanting to know how to put the text in the galleries. I did a jpb of prices for my "pricing" nav bar. Do I just treat the Contact and Link nav bar the same way?

I see you've got the galleries. Now instead of linking to the categories you need to link to the galleries. In those galleries put the information you want in the album description and you're all set.

Okay, I've done what I think you wanted me to. However, I still want to be able to have the website listed and then have someone be able to click on the link and go straight to the website. Also, I want someone to be able to put the cursor over my email address, click on it and it open up their email provider and them be able to email me.

Is this possible?:dunno

Of course. I just did it for you in this gallery description:

http://memoriescaptured.smugmug.com/gallery/1296326

You can edit as you see fit. And, in my FAQ, (see my sig) there are other email options, too. Like what I use on my site: www.moonriverphotography.com

And why do you have "contact me" in your navbar go to a category? Click fatigue is tiring! Take the viewer right to your contact page:

I'm sorry, I guess I just don't know what you mean by this. The websites are listed where? You want to be able to click what link and go to what website? Words are hard, pictures are easy. Maybe a picture will help me out.

Mailto links are done like this:

<a href="mailto:you@wherever.com (http://mailto:you@wherever.com)">Email me!</a>

If you do that and click on the words "Email me!" your email program will open up and you will be able to send you an email. Put that wherever you like.

Forgot the link. If you want to see more options on how to do this go to http://www.ianr.unl.edu/internet/mailto.html

Better now?
You had some javascript that I don't know where it came from, but you had it in your header. You also left out an all-important " from the link in your "contact" link for your header.

I couldn't figure out how to start a new thread so I just decided to REPLY to one.....

How do I get rid of the green thumb and red thumb that are appearing in the upper right hand corner of the pictures when the cursor is on the picture?

Thanks,

Hi Lynda,
I think that in each gallery you can say if you want your photo ranked. I believe that is the way to turn it off. But, I'm a newbee.

I Just tried it and that is how it works.

Have you thought for a bit about how much exposure and traffic this can bring to your site? Just a thought. You may want to have it on only porfolio galleries, or something like that. But I encourage you to do whatever it takes to be "found" :deal

Still, we do make it easy to take it off. Sitewide for your site, or gallery by gallery.

I hope this helps!

PS: How to start a new thread? In any forum, click on "new thread" button. Easy peasy.
