It's Spring! Right now, it's all about the sticks and twigs, not "all about the food". A joke guys, a joke:D
She said you had your "priorities wrong". :wxwax For the birds, right now, it's all about the NEST not the food.:wink
:rofl :rofl

Nothing, Andy, nothing at all. Except maybe focus on food.:D

To get your prioritis strait right now, remember the nest comes before the food. With men, it's hard to focus on priorities, they struggle between natures calls for food and sex all the time.:wink

And, I am really surprised, but that is an egg! It is egg shaped, it has to be an egg. I looked in my Peterson's, it did not give egg colors, but coming in on it, well, it is either their egg, or something left over.

I must have a gazillion Fetching Of Stick shots, and very, very few food shots!

After the fetching of the sticks, this is what I saw happen! He was rebuffed, every time I saw, maybe she did not want to be filmed, smile.

I couldn't get a real clear shot, but the "intentions" were clear. I am not sure of the biology at work here. I mean which comes first, the egret or the egg?

Thank you so much everyone for commenting! Snappy, I appreciate you bringing in the women's perspective :rofl , clearing things up for Andy and all!

No, Andy, you did nothing wrong. But all you guys, it is spring, I wonder what would happen if you all went out and brought "sticks" home, smile. Maybe for us, flowers have replaced sticks. Perhaps all the pregnant fathers could "weigh" in with their "tactics". Food or sticks????

Thanks for the nice comments!

1-6, usually 3, pale bluish-green eggs are laid. Both parents take turns to incubate the eggs and to feed the chicks. While most birds do not start incubating their eggs until the full clutch is laid, Great Egrets start incubating as soon as the first egg is laid. Thus Great Egret eggs hatch at different times about 25 days later.

This is the site here, I have put in favorite places:

They usualy end up with three hatchlings. The two older hatchlings will usually harass the younger until it dies or they push it out of the nest.
