Thumbs on home page

Can anyone provide info on changing the spacing & layout of home page thumbs - maybe doing three across, etc. Also I'd like to possibly change the titles from the sides to the bottoms if it isn't too involved. And maybe scrunch up the vertical spacing. Thanks if anyone can help!

This will change the vertical spacing. I don't know the other bits but Mike or Lee or Dev will, I'm sure. Change the 40 px to some other number (less)...

OH Get FF and the FF Web Dev tool, linky in my siggy. It really helps, you can play with this code and see instantly before applying to your site. :D
