Did you see a crooked man hanging around? :D

I too love to shot old abandoned houses, and love wondering around in old graveyards, there are some interesting stories to be found in places like that.

I'm not much of a graveyard person, but anything that is abandoned or has some really old history to it, I love it.:D

I like both of those photos a lot. I noticed the watch on the challenge.

Both are good, IMO.

I like the house, just clean it up a bit in PS. This thread is where you post your pics for comments, then when you decide what you want to enter, post a reply to the sticky thread "Challenge 23 - Time" with your entry. I was confussed on that too at first...

So, based on the second hand, I would guess this was about a 4 second exposure? :wink

Nice shot.

We seem to be having the same problem. I cant seem to get anyone to tell me what they prefer with my pictures. So I will try to do that for you.

At first glance I liked your final version of the house below very much. You could just see the efeects of time and negelect over time on the house. Says alot very simply. I didnt like the watch shot at first just cause I didnt look closely at it the first time. Something I am going to try not to do in the future because I realize now that I think I missed what you were trying to do with the picture in the first place. After looking at it more closely I noticed how you time dleayed the shot. Could even tell it was a 4 second delay. Very cool effect and I much prefer this shot now that I see what you were trying to do. Very cool.

If it was me I would enter the watch. Just a better overall shot in my opinion. Great work though:thumb

I prefer the Watch shot. It has a very good feel to it for me, good textures. The other shot is a cool house, but not as striking in a photo sense. :)

Not to sound snooty, but part of the growth involved in photography is developing an aesthetic sense. In other words, deciding for yourself what works and doesn't, rather than relying upon what others say. So, counterintuitive as it might seem, it's better to listen to your own voice than to others. For sure, pay attention to technical feedback. But when it comes to deciding what is and is not a good photo, developing your own opinion will improve your skills faster. Sometimes other folks will agree, sometimes they won't. But no-one can grow if they only listen to others.

Did that sound too snooty? Sorry if it did.

Oh, and look at lots and lots of photographs, figure out what you like and why.... then try to steal what they did! Lots of fun, and entirely legal!
