As usual the light and metering of it is pretty challenging.

I wanted to grab a shot of the lighthouse last year and never did. So this season I made sure it was on my list.
Shot with D200 and 18-200VR:

Nice shots, Trish!

I am glad to hear that shooting those egrets makes for "challenging" lighting. When I first saw my photos from my wilder looking, but still egrets, rookery, taken on Monday, well..............I was dismayed to say the least. I have found some I like, and some of those are even in focus, but I still feel very "light challenged".

I shot a lot at 100 ISO, finally found a few good ones, even as it got darker. And naturally the resolution is better than my usual 3200, or even 800, so now I am more confused. Whether to shoot hundreds and hope I get a very, very limited number at lower ISOs, or to go for the "more" and start with ISO400.

I really like your shots, and I love your lighthouse. I have never been to that area.

Hi Trish!
Great shots, as usual. Glad you got the lighthouse. It's a cool one!

Can't wait to get out to the Gator Farm and check things out. Is it getting busy or still too early?

hi ginger,
Thanks! yes I am light challenged! The light here can be harsh. I sometimes don't know why I attempt to shoot after 8:30 AM or before 5:30PM?? i guess for practice. I shot some scenics today that I love. I am going to try to do more of that...

Hi Kevin,
We need to talk! Found some wonderful driftwood shots for you!

The rookery ... a bit early yet in my opinion. There are shots...especially flight. just anxious for everything to get in full swing.
