The lines, to me, seem to just be wake from the boat. The problem is that the pic/subject is underexposed because you were shooting into the sun, your son (with and o) has his back to the sun (with a u). That is why his face is dark and his arm is blown out. Couldnt have been easy though keeping a 70-300 steady with boat tearing through the water.
