Removing scratches from LCD

I've noticed my Epson P-2000 has a very delicate LCD screen and I've managed to scratch it with very little effort. I'm looking at this product http://www.ipodcleaner.com/index.html as a means of removing the scratches. Wondering if anyone has had any luck with any means of removing scratches from LCD screens. Thanks.

Putting a protective screen over the display may hide the scratch and it is cheaper than the cleaner which I would be wary of. I bought this (http://www.palm.com/us/products/accessories/styli/3177WW.html) from here (http://www.palm.com/us/products/accessories/styli/) for my palm and put one on my camera lcd. It reduces glare and improves viewing. I did see a thread of others protecting their cameras with theese too

similarly, I bought a pack that was on closeout....since the model it was sized for was discontinued. No mind to me tho....I've put on camera, phone and other similar small screens. Even my Razr brushed aluminum keypad.

have you ever tried using scratch removers for cars? ive used 'meguiar's scratch x' on almost everything plastic and metal. it cleaned up my ipod real well and when i accidentally scratched my car stereo's faceplate, it took it out pretty well. also, it removes minor scratches (nothing too deep) on car paint.

you can get these at your local walmart, target, autozone/kragen/pepboys stores. you have to use cotton to buff out scratches. may i suggest an old but clean t-shirt or really soft socks. it only costs about $10 at most, but you can use it on anything as long as the scratch isnt too deep.

then when you remove it, go to a place where they sell fabrics and buy a small sheet of clear plastic/vinyl. it sticks on to glass really well, theyre like thick tint in a way. its what i use to protect my screens. i can provide photos to point you in the right direction. just ask.

Good call! I put a protective film over the LCD and it does, somehow, hide the scratches, and should protect against new ones. :thumb

im telling you use meguiar's, it works and its cheap. THEN cover it up.

If the damage is bad, you could buy a new plexiglass LCD cover screen from Canon direct. I think they're about $10/each for the rear or top LCDs. The problem is, you have to have the right tools and the guts to take your camera apart for the repairs.

The metal clip on my neckstrap did a number on my top LCD, so I bought the mini-plexiglass cover direct from Canon. Problem is, I don't have a suction cup small enough or strong enough to get the old one off. I might try the Meguiar's solution, though... looks promising.
