Hello All,

After seeing the new cameras from PMA and not feeling confident with my repaired S9000's Command Dial, I decided to trade it in with some other gear for a Sony R-1.

The s9000 is a great camera at its price point. But I felt the R-1 and its lens would suit me better for my people pics.

One of my first R-1 shots:

Nick, that's beautiful. Lovely color, brightness.

Congratulations on your new camera! :thumb

You're going to miss the range. I can just hear it now. :rofl

that shot looks noisy as heck - is it because its attached rather than linked to your SM?

Nice shot. The foreground stuff, i think they are chairs and that candle are distracting from a really nice shot.

Hello All,

The foreground items are what you see while sitting in the pew, my intended vantage point of you, the viewer. Guess it didn't work.

I already do miss the range.

That is not noise, its 'photographic grain'.

I like the vantage point. It's one of the better composed pics you've posted
(at least in my opinion).

I do think the small size of the attachments does limit the viewer's perception
of the shot though. I don't know that I would categorize it as either
grain or noise but probably compression artifact.

Don't you have a smugmug account you could link from? That'd really show
off the quality of the shot.

The R1 is a fine camera and I have to belive that a linked shot would show
it off in its best light (so to speak).

Thanks for sharing.
