This little guy came into my feeders the other day. I believe it's an immature Male Lesser Goldfinch.

Fluffing up the feathers a bit

Nice shots Steve. The first one looks like he's got a beer belly.

Nice shot, Steve - sharp, great color. But are you sure it's a him, and not an eggbound her??
Kevin.

Well done, Steve. :thumb Those little birds are awful difficult to see in the trees. I want to see some of them in flight. :D A real man could hand hold that 500mm. :uhoh :rofl

Don't worry...it's just a temporary thing. I'll spend my way out of it. :rofl I hope to pick up a 300mm f/2.8 and a 500mm f/4 in the near future. Gas $$$$ for the boat and beer $$$$ has put a dent in my lens budget. :D I know..I know..my priorities are all messed up. Fishing should take a back seat to photography. :wxwax

NaH - Fishing is important too.

But when you get that 500, put a 1.4 TC on it and just try to keep a bird in the viewfinder handheld. Not even in focus - just in sight. Lotsa luck!!:D:D

Excellent Steve, and I hate to use the overworked words, "as usual," but with you it fits. Your photos are always gorgeous.

You bought a BOAT instead of a lens. Mike, we need to have a talk. :lol

I'll be jealous if you get that 300 f/2.8, that sounds like a SWEET lens.
