You probably wouldn't belive it to see a picture of my now (look up and to the left), but I did the same thing about 6 years ago. Mine wasn't near that long. But it was long enough to donate to Locks of Love. A match to this picture would be something with the other end of that ponytail. If done right, it could make an interesting triglyph (is that the right word?)?
