According to the release notes from Feb 15, code was added that allows a user to disable lightbox. I think I've looked everywhere, but can't find this option. Can someone steer me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Power and Pro users can put this in the Javascript Section of your customization (Control Panel>Customize):

// don't want the lightbox?
useLightbox = false;

I hope this helps!

Thanks Andy, this did get rid of the lightbox. However, I didn't get what I really wanted, because now when I click on the image I get a popup box. I tend to load photos that are 600x450 or smaller and I force the gallery to the smugmug style. Up until recently, this meant that clicking on the image did nothing (no lightbox and no popup), but I noticed today that this is no longer the case.

So I guess my question now is how do I get rid of the popup box?

Thanks for the help.

Well, then, that's easy. Remove that code, and disable Originals in your galleries. All of your shots will remain on the page, and LB will never fire.

Sorry, I forgot:

No matter how small your files are, LB will always fire in smugmug and smugmug small styles. So, if you want nobody to see light box, you can force a different style, like traditional...

Dang. I, too would like to suppress the lightbox. Since I don't allow originals to be seen the lightbox just comes up at about the same size as the 'smugmug' style. (And I could swear the if you click buy-me from the lightbox the shopping cart occasionally comes up UNDER the lightbox. Don't remember if that was from foxfire 1.5 or IE7). I've already suppressed the mouse-over.

I've tried a few other styles, but so far I like smugmug best.

Got a link where this happens? We'll need to see that.

We also need a link to your site, to be able to help you :deal

I saw it early on, during my trial period... and might not even have been in my own gallery. I do remember that I clicked buy-me several times, since nothing seemed to be happening, and then found that I had one entry in my cart for each click.

It was the second day after a new moon, if that helps. :dunno

There are no cart-lightbox issues that we are aware of. If you find one, let us know :D

The screen-shots are for Foxfire, but it was the same on IE7

With many apologies - I'm wrong. It's a bug in our system, logged, too.

Sorry for the hassle. I'll ask the engineers again to get this fixed.

Maybe they can add a 'disable lightbox' option while they're at it! :thumb

I did ... but I also read and believed your FOURTH post,

I thought that this over-rode the no-lightbox request.

Anyway, LB is now OFF, so I'm happy again.
