I have been waiting since mid-December. I am on several waiting lists to no avail. I check every day.

It is getting a bit frustrating.

We're estimated to get our next shippments mid to late april...

Trust me. Your frustration is shared by all. Nikon *really* dropped the ball on this one.

EBay is the only place i see them for sale.
Cameta.com is a trusted dealer (and it seems that Mack warranties are valid for Cameta goods). It seems they have some left (they are a regular shop as well and have an online presence at ebay). But Cameta only has the KIT version.

According to what I've heard:

The cameras have shown up at major retailers, always several in each week. B&H got 200 of them, but sold out within an hour (!?!). Major internet retailers seem to be the best bet.

Circuit City.com and Best Buy.com both update their inventories around 12-1 AM, so if you're up late at night, check then. Those that have been most successful seem to have gone this route. Again, these guys seem to get some every week, so it's not impossible.

I've been paying attention because I'm planning to get one soon. Good luck!

Bestbuy had some in stock the other day.

Keep these links handy and check several times a day:

It is getting a bit frustrating.I don't know, but I'll help you look if you let me change that grotesquely long username you've chosen!

This evening i could no longer find any D200's sold by Cameta.com through ebay... guess they ran out of stock as well....

Another poster hit it right...they seem to trickle in/out of Best Buy and Circuit City. Also, I've found CompetitiveCameras.com to have stock of stuff that most others do not. They don't sell online but give them a call...nice folks and a HUGE inventory...they may have it, but I'd be surprised. :)

I got mine from Best Buy (online). There's no waiting list there. Just check VERY early in the morning on their site every day (I mean like 5 AM to 7 AM or so). If it shows up with the 'add to cart' then it's in stock. It'll show sold out if it's not in stock. I've heard some stores have them in stock at the store too. I recommend getting your Best Buy account setup in advance if you want to buy from them though. Once it's in stock, you'll want to add it to the cart and check out ASAP. If you don't setup the account first, you'll be forced to add your credit card, billing/shipping address, etc. Be SURE that your billing address and phone number are exactly the same as the info you have for your credit card or the order might be rejected.

I got mine about 1 week after I started looking. They show up on Best Buy fairly regularly. If you don't care about buying a a real camera shop (I don't), then this will work for you.
