Some purple fringing in the wave top ..other wise i like the shot a lot. The half/half sort of composition is a tad odd to me though.

Shay Stephens has a $10 (i think) prog that will remove the purple so easily you will wonder what you ever did before it was around.

Remind me to ask about that program!

I really need it for around trees and bushes.

tired, will try to remember to check to see about it tomorrow.

Sorry, re the photo............It is ok, I kind of don't like monochromatic sunsets and rises, usually.

ginger (I think it is OK, I wouldn't put it on my wall, but it is a start. And I agree on the horizon, or something, it just does not excite me!) The foreground is not good either. I do beaches a lot, and it just seems that the beach has to contribute to the photograph, or I try to work around it, with dunes, rocks, water, whatever...........I do that anyway, as long as I am there. But your beach does not add to the photo, IMO.)

Wow, purple fringing.... I thought that was just the effect of the haze reflecting the sunlight. So you think that's due to lens flare?

I'll check the "original" size for a closer look.

Thanks for all the comments. I agree the sand foreground doesn't add much. Perhaps this would have been better as a landscape crop.

I think it would have been a lot better as a landscape orientation. You would have had a better balance of sand, mountain and sky and we'd be able to see more of the expanse of beach and mountains to give the picture more depth. As it is, I'm stuck wondering what it's a picture of and what is to the right of the edge of the photo.

This is probably also an example of where an ND filter would have helped. The sky and sun are overexposed so they don't show as much of their color and detail, but the beach would be too dark at a lower exposure. You could try blending two
