Universal uploader reports erroneous number of uploaded photos

I've noticed lately (the last two times I used it) that the universal uploader gives nonsensical number of successfully uploaded images. For instance, I made a gallery, uploaded 82 images. It told me it uploaded 173, so I went and looked and no, it uploaded 82. Also, I uploaded 4 images earlier and it told me 36 (or so, I forget exactly) had been uploaded...though only 4 had. (Firefox 1.5 WinXp SP2)

Just to be clear, the reason only 82 and 4 photos had been uploaded was that that's all I was uploading. I.E. it's not a real problem, it's just a bit of an oddity.
