I like them both. Nice detail on the first and the mood and composition on the second is excellent.

I have just started trying to to capture geese and cranes that winter in this area, and I am not getting anthing close to as nice with my D70 w/Sigma 70-200. Can you give some technical info on your camera / lens / settings for the shots?

Hi Tom,

thanks for the compliments. I use a Canon 20D w battery grip and the lens used for this shot was the EF 300mm f4 coupled with a 1.4 teleconverter.
The image is slightly cropped with some pp in ps.

my husband says I'm wrong - he thinks it's Canadian Goose, eh. Those are beautiful! I can see why you had such a blast!

I did a google search and Canada goose (or geese) seems to be the correct name.
