Ha, ha...... nice one Dana! Hope you don't mind...... just coulden't resist!

Thought it needed either a pizza oven or microwave.... guess the latter was more appropriate otherwise we'd have a meltdown!

The LCD doubles for TV viewer as well!

Wonderful camera..... the all new D35 Mark II.

Cheers to all.

PS. How many megawatts did you say it was?

NOTE! In other un-related news, some pics of the real 30D, possibly, are leaked and shown on DPR. Horrible cell phone picture quality, but it seems to be just another "scheduled" leak by Canon that doesn't do us much good at all other than spike our curiosity...

I need to see a spec for that "Adams Mode" at the bottom left.

It's an Ansel Adams emulator, right?

not...
Douglas Adams?
Scott "Dilbert" Adams?
Don Adams? ("Get Smart")

Rumors of this have been floating around the net for the past month or more. It's a true technological breakthrough. It's rumored to be the Canon Q1 and can capture images of events either before or after they occur. This allows photographers, for example, to reshoot after the fact to compensate for a missed opportunity. It also allows them to practice for an upcomming event.

Exact specs are closely guarded in advance of release. (Of course if we could obtain a sample for testing, we could use it to photograph the specs at the time the are released, but Canon has also been coy about providing reviewers access to preproduction units.) Speculation is that time reverse photography provied up to a 5 minute window for reshoots and future photography may provide a much longer window, but reduced resolution for periods greater than an hour.

Some leading NY stores are already taking waiting list orders.

i actually got to play with one already and i was very disappointed. the new extra features are excellent, but it's only 1.3 megapixels. i couldn't believe it. i'm gonna hold off on this one and wait for one with a built-in hard drive and printer. and maybe a go-go gadget copter.

But with that reshoot capability, you can actually res up as much as you like by reshooting and interlacing. In fact there is a built in feature on the menu (just below the bracketing controls) just for this. You can obtain near gigapixel resolution with this feature, if you have the patience and onboard memory.

Canon is also being coy about the software they plan to ship, but it's not unreasonable to expect it to support interlacing of raw files shot using this feature.

A big difference between this Canon and the new Nikon 1000D (reported to be in current development by unnamed sources).

No "trash" or "delete" button on the Nikon - it's just not needed anymore. Perfect shots everytime. All of them wall-hanging keepers!

Oh that button! It's not used to delete image! It deletes troublesome subjects.

35D + 0 = 350D?

Doesn't anyone else think this is kind of fishy that they're using a model name that is surprisingly easy to photoshop together.

By the way, the right side of the 35D doesn't match in light signatures to the grip below it...

I believe those shots are all of an earlier prototype, and whereas they do include some good features that have fallen by the wayside, the best news is that the latest prototypes have a much larger LCD...

I had one of my Nostradavid moments last night.

There has been much debate over what the "35D" will feature. Some say it sports a 1.3 crop sensor, while others insist it must remain 1.6 due to the limited imaging circle of the EF-S lens series (even more EF-S lenses due soon).

What if they're both right?

Here's a thought... A 10.x MP 1.3 crop sensor for more frame coverage for the important shots that need the resolution more pixels give. How will the 1.6 S lenses work with that you say? They won't, since the image circle from such lenses can't cover the larger sensor without some serious vignetting.

Enter S-crop mode to the rescue. With S lenses mounted, the cam places itself in auto EF-S mode, and electronically crops the 10.x MP image down to a 8.x MP image. No vignetting, because the camera doesn't output the vignetted portion of the shot.

The result... Nature shooters love it because of the higher crop and magnification of 1.6x. Landscape shooters love it for the greater coverage with the regular EF lenses (especially the wide angle shots). More pixels for them, since landscapers don't usually use long lenses. Another benefit is faster continuous shooting.

This, if they have managed a way of swinging a slightly larger mirror out of the way of the back of EF-S lenses.

Just a thought. :wink

OK, yes you did. Great minds think alike. :D

My ESP vision also included a new 10-500 EF-S L IS f/2.8 lens. I can't wait to try that out!

Must be something in the wind we don't know about, but dealers might. Noticed that prices for 350XT's and 20D's have been dropping on-line.

350XT w/kit lens for under $800

20D w/kit lens for under $1,200.

Actually, the rebel XT was on sale at my store up here in canada for 969.99 for the silver + kit lens, so 800$USD ain't so far off.

As for teh 20d, we've had it for 1649.99$, and I suspect that if you do the conversion, 1200 converted to canadian is pretty close to that.

Those aren't so far-fetched.

Was looking at Price Grabber.com. You can do the same and determine which are storefront and which are not. Think Normans, Beach, etc. are legit.
