Hi Y'all,
I'm back. I haven't had a chance to shoot lately but here are a few recently processed raptor shots from October.
We had a pair of mating caracaras but the lousy racoons got to the nest and the caracaras have moved further away. I haven't seen too much of them lately,

the eagles are nesting and are frequent visitors

Thanks Dee. My father -in-law, Al, collapsed on 12/24 and passed away on 1/4 so its been a sad and very busy time for us. Linda and I just returned from NYC where we reunited Al with his wife.

Physically and emotionally draining....I know.
Unfortunately, the older we get, the more often we have to deal with these situations. Sorry that yours had to come at this time.
The sooner you can get out and shooting again....the better.

Thank you very much Colleen. Actually the hawk had fallen off its branch and was breaking its fall. I was lucky to catch what was probbaly Florida's only klutzy hawk. :D

It's obvious from the posts that you have many friends here, so count me as part of that group and join the roar, to say welcome back also. Your captures are outstanding. I hope you'll leave a few pictrures for the rest of us on the Florida shoot. Looking forward to meeting you, and hoping that some of your expertise may find it way to my white cane photography.

Thanks Steve. I would love to catch a KF up close too. That little bloke is just pure evil. When I was shooting with the 300mm he stayed in a bit closer. As soon as I got the 500mm he started to stay further away from me. If he keeps doing this my next purchase will be a shotgun instead of new glass. :rambo
