Pretty intriguing to read about. It looks like a battle brewing between Aperture and Lightroom. Lightroom won't ship until later in 2006 and it will be on the PC too. Could be some pretty cool stuff for people into photography.

Looks very cool indeed. I posted this thread before I read any of the first look reviews.

My guess (always known as "Nostradavid says..."), is within 12-16 months from now, Adobe will integrate PS CS3, Camera Raw and LightRoom together somehow. Perhaps not in the same application per se, but bundled into a suite for photographers. Should be the killer app(s) for late '06 or early '07. That will be group number 1.

InDesign, will then be less dependent on photo editing, and marketed sans PS, specifically for everything else print media and web (remember, they bought MacroMedia). Group # 2.

Group # 3... Video editing, of course, will stand on its own and also get beefed up. I don't follow the news with those apps very often.

If they do it right, all group apps will be able to talk to each other.

I love those presets on the left - and the opportunity to build your own. I really like the interface. I'd buy it!

UPDATE: I found Layers Magazine has a video stroll through Lightroom with Dave Cross (http://www.layersmagazine.com/lightroom/video.php). This is exciting. Now let's see what Steve Jobs has in store for us on Tuesday!

UPDATE2: NAPP Launches New Lightroom Learning Center (http://www.photoshopuser.com/lightroom/index.html) - stock full of video tutorials already. That was fast.
