Apparently there has been a little confusion about how to get site statistics to work for your smugmug site. If you're a power or pro user, I'm going to walk you through the process of setting up some of the various stat trackers. I'll handle each of them in separate replies to this thread. If you have questions, let me know. I'll close the thread until I get the tutes completed and then open them for questions.

Even though statcounter is very limited I really like the feature to display the page titles in the visitor path. This gives me an easy overview through which galleries every visitor went and even which pictures exactly he looked at.
Google hasn't any visitor paths - it's more anonymous.
Statssheet on the other hand supplies a lot bigger log size and also gives me a visitor path even though it doesn't display page titles. Also it doesn't support blocking cookies for people on dynamic IPs to block their own visits like statcounter and google do.

Great information/links. I went with statcounter and was amazed to see hits to my site from China, Slovenia, Belgium, Bahrain, and someone with the Kentucky Public Works department in Frankfurt, KY looking at my swimsuit photos during work!

You wouldn't believe how many hits I get for "little girls" or "little girls pictures" for this gallery (http://photos.mikelanestudios.com/gallery/524432/1/21614018). (Don't worry, it is very safe for work).

Does anyone have an extra invitation to Google Analytics just laying around? If so, could you send it to by email or private message? Thanks!

Umm, your CNAME will work. I don't think it matters that much honestly.
